Work with the touch-up pencil
Rock fall, scratches and scars, chipped edges

Causes: e.g. rock fall, damage while parked or while transported, vandals, snow chains, carelessness while loading or unloading, etc.
Worst-affected areas: bumper, radiator grille, bonnet, wheel arch, entrance, leading edge of the car roof, door frame
Description of the damage: The scratches are perfectly visible and noticeable. In most of the cases the paint is already chipped and the metal (car sheet metal) appears. That mostly happens with older damages including patches of rust.
Quick fix: remove rust and chipped off, loose pieces of paint, clean the bare area and ground it. Apply the paint with the touch-up pencil onto the dry grounding. Let it cure and fill it with clear lacquer afterwards.
After 2 or 3 days the paint will be complety cured und can now be polished and, if necessary, also be sanded. For a perfect result, preserve with hard wax.
To do away with the rust! In cases of small damages – see image – I simply use a screwdriver and scrape off the rust. What stays is a shiny area, which should be slightly bigger than the original rock fall. That’s important, because along the edges nasty rust is situated below the paint. Now, the stainless area is going to be cleaned with silicone remover. As a grounding I use rust converter, which I apply thinly with a brush – allow the paint to dry ca. 1 hour – time for a Cappuccino…
Now, bring colour into play! With the touch-up pencil dab the area carefully. Attention! Don’t use too much paint, in order to prevent drop formation that is uglier than the rock fall itself. After curing (about 10 – 20 min) fill up the dent with clear lacquer carefully. Not too little – not too much. Simply easy…
In order to perfect the whole thing, I polish the area extensively after 2 – 3 days and preserve it with hard wax afterwards – done and like new ;o)
